Get in touch

LocalType is a small operation, so replies are written by a person rather than generated. That also means they are not instant.

Where to write

Something is not working

Have a look at the help pages first — they cover the usual causes. If that does not settle it, send us the details.

Beta feedback

Accuracy in your language, how it holds up on your phone, anything that felt wrong. This is the most useful mail we can get right now.

Privacy questions

Anything about what the app does with your data, or a request about an email address you gave us.

Anything else

Press, partnerships, or a question that does not fit the boxes above.

What to include for a support question

It saves a round trip, and often makes the difference between a guess and an answer.

  • Which phone you are using, and which version of Android
  • Which speech model you downloaded, and which language you were dictating in
  • What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
  • Whether it happens in every app or only in one
  • A diagnostic report from the app, if you can export one

A diagnostic report describes your device and settings. It contains no audio, no dictated text, no clipboard contents and no passwords.

What to expect

During the beta the volume of mail is unpredictable, so we would rather not promise a response time we cannot keep. Everything gets read. Bug reports with a diagnostic report attached tend to get answered fastest, because there is something concrete to work from.

Beta signups go through the form rather than by email — it asks for the device details we need up front.
